About TAHRA
The Toledo Area Human Resource Association (TAHRA) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to serving and advancing the human resource profession.
TAHRA is a local affiliate of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). We are a dynamic, growing chapter that has received SHRM's Superior Merit Award for outstanding chapter achievement. We are governed by a constitution that is available for your review.
Our Mission
The purpose of the Toledo Area Human Resource Association (TAHRA) is to promote the enlightened practice of the Human Resources discipline, to enhance the professional and personal development of individuals engaged in the practice of human resources, and to provide occasions for the interchange of ideas and information among those who are members of the organization.

Brief History
TAHRA was organized in 1918 by a group of employment managers who felt the need for a forum to discuss mutual professional challenges. Fifty-four years later the association became affiliated with SHRM (formerly known as ASPA) in 1972. During all this time, the traditions of our founding members have prevailed. We strive to build a sound and effective association to promote human resources in the companies and communities of our members and to build upon mutual interests and desires.
