TAHRA Using Paypal for Online Payments
Our new website, www.toledoshrm.org, uses PAYPAL to process all online e-commerce transactions. When you RSVP for a TAHRA event, Paypal is the motor that processes your transaction.
There have been a few questions regarding the use of Paypal. As a Board, we would like to provide you with the following helpful hints for using Paypal:
a) If you do not have a paypal account, and the credit card you are using is not assigned to a paypal account, you put your credit card through with no problems.
b) If you are using a credit card that is registered to a paypal account, you must first log in to that assigned paypal account before you use the credit card. This is a security measure that paypal has in place to protect the cardholder. Remember, you can use a non-registered credit card at any time without logging in to a paypal account.
c) One of the issues that has come up is using someone else's credit card to pay for your meeting. That is fine, as long as that card is not registered on a paypal account. If the card is registered, the user must first login to paypal. Your boss may not want to give you their paypal user name and pw. If that is the case, you need to use a different card.
d) You can still use any card multiple times to pay for multiple people (so long as you are logged in to paypal for registered cards).
e) If a member has a paypal account set up to collect fees from something (they sell artwork from home), that has no impact on our site. They would need to log in to use their card, but it will not prevent them from registering for our events.
