Payroll Clerk
Summary
Member of the Payroll team that will ensure accurate processing and recording of company’s payroll, provide timely and accurate financial information, participate in daily data entry Payroll processing.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform daily payroll department operations
- Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
- Reconcile payroll
- Input direct deposit information
- Email invoices
- Verify payroll
- Manage pay rates
- Process SERS/STRS reporting
- Assist in completing wage verifications
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Must have a minimum of one year of payroll experience.
- Working knowledge of payroll best practices.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll taxes and regulations.
- Strong PC skills including proficiency in Excel.
- Strong work ethic and reliable team player.
- High degree of professionalism.
- Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material.
- Ability to diffuse and resolve payroll issues as they arise with both employees and customers.
- Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills.
- Ability to communicate with various levels of management.
- Decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
